Refugee qualification directive
Webstandards for the qualification and status of third country nationals or stateless persons as refugees or as persons who otherwise need international protection and the content of the protection granted (the Qualification Directive),1 expired on October 10, 2006. This study examines the transposition of certain provisions of that directive, the Webrefugee status under Article 12(1)(a) of the Qualification Directive, as well as the conditions under which protection or assistance of a UN organ other than UNHCR are considered to have ceased, and the consequences for the entitlements of the concerned person under the Qualification Directive.
